Tomorrow night I will be performing a newly commissioned work with the Vonnegut Collective as part of the Didsbury Arts Festival. '...tiny lights...' draws inspiration from the novel 'The Wind-up Bird Chronicle' by Haruki Murakami and delves into that space between sleep and wakefulness, combining electronic and acoustic sound, notated and improvised music, to create a surreal, dream-like sound-space.
The performance takes place as part of a charity evening at the Siemens Building in Manchester.
Also as part of the evening, MIF Artistic Director and CEO Alex Poots and MIF Creative Learning Director Jennifer Cleary will talk about what Manchester International Festival has achieved over the past decade and how this might relate to Didsbury Arts Festival’s theme ‘In-between Places’; they will also preview the MIF15 programme, Alex’s last as CEO and Artistic Director.
The MIF Sacred Sounds Choir and the Siemens Choir will also be performing
